2015年9月22日，创新学院学生代表受邀参加宁波诺丁汉大学校友、英国前任外交国务大臣杰里米•布朗（Jeremy Browne）关于“中西方国际关系”的公开讲座。
上午9时，创新学院学生代表如约到达宁波诺丁汉大学，由校园接待大使带领学生至Teaching Building329 阶梯教室。9点35分，在杰里米向在座学生的到来表示热烈的欢迎之后，讲座正式开始。演讲中提到，他于2005至2015年期间任英国议会议员，并曾担任英国外交国务大臣（2010-2012年）及英国内政部国务大臣（2012-2013年）。同时，他也向在座的同学分享其任职期间与亚洲国家进行各项外交活动的经历与感受，以及讲述了他对中西方国际文化交流的理解和感悟。演讲过后的提问环节，在座学生更是积极提问，希望杰里米以曾外交大臣的身份解答学生们在中英、中美外交关系上的问题和疑惑，杰里米则是耐心予以解答，并相应提出中外交流的意见与建议。最后，为时一小时的讲座在学生们的热烈鼓掌中顺利结束。
通过本次讲座，使我院学生对中外国际关系、中西文化交流有了更深层次的了解，并进一步加深了对中外交流的认识，增强了同学们国际交流的意识，同时也使其感受到了不一样的学术讲座氛围，
About the lecture:
Invited by Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir David Greenaway, Jeremy Browne, international adviser to the University of Nottingham and former UK Minister of State will give a public talk on 22 September on ‘West-China relations and how we can progress for mutual benefit’. Mr Browne is a Nottingham alumnus and visited UNNC in September 2010 when he was the UK Minister of State in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

About the speaker:
Jeremy Browne is an international adviser to the University of Nottingham. He is also the Special Representative for the City of London to Europe. Jeremy Browne was previously a member of the United Kingdom parliament (2005-15), a Minister of State in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office covering UK-China relations (2010-12) and a Minister of State in the Home Office (2012-13). He studied at the University of Nottingham, graduating with a degree in Politics (1992) and was President of the Students' Union (1992-93).
