12月3日，应创新学院邀请，英国杜伦大学副教授、博士生导师Prue Holmes访问并受聘担任我校客座教授。
On December 3rd, due to the invitation of the Innovative College, the associate professor as well as doctoral tutor Dr. Prue Holmes in Durham University visited our university and served as a visiting professor in our school.
上午，受聘仪式在行政楼会议室举行。执行校长应敏、校国际交流部部长贺继军及丁亚军、董红波等创新学院部分师生出席会议。应敏校长对Prue Holmes博士的来访表示热烈欢迎，并介绍了学校的发展历史、教学特色、发展方向等情况。Prue Holmes博士对学校的盛情邀请和信任表示感谢，并具体介绍了本次来访带来的IEREST项目（Intercultural Education Resources for Erasmus Students and their Teachers）。双方围绕IEREST项目如何提高学生的跨文化交际能力进行了深入交流和讨论。最后，应敏校长为Prue Holmes博士颁发了客座教授的聘书。
In the morning, a ceremony was held on the executive building conference room. Executive president Ying Min, the international exchange department minister He Jijun, Ding Yajun, Dong Hongbo and other teachers and students from Innovative College attended the meeting. President Ying Min gave a warm welcome to Dr. Prue Holmes and introduced the development history, teaching characteristics, development direction and other aspects of our university. Dr. Prue Holmes was very grateful for the warm welcome and then she specifically introduced the IEREST（Intercultural Education Resources for Erasmus Students and their Teachers）project to us. Both of them exchange ideas on how to improve cross-cultural communicative ability of students and discussed IEREST project in-depth. Finally, President Ying Min awarded Dr. Prue Holmes as a visiting professor.

下午，Prue Holmes博士在1310教室为同学们做了题为“Being Interculturally Competent（如何成为有跨文化能力的人）”的讲座。Prue Holmes博士对IEREST 项目进行了详细的介绍，深入浅出地分析了跨文化交际的相关理论和应对策略等，并与同学们就跨文化交际、出国留学等进行了热烈的交流与讨论。
In the afternoon, Dr. Prue Holmes made a lecture entitled Being Intercultural Competent for students in the classroom 1310. She presented a detailed introduction to the IEREST project, analyzing the related theories of Intercultural communication and the countermeasures. What’s more, she also had a lively discussion with students in intercultural communication and study abroad.

During the visit, Dr. Prue Holmes was accompanied by the students from Innovation College, their fluent English and wonderful performance left a deep impression on her.
Prue Holmes博士是英国杜伦大学副教授、博士生导师，芬兰赫尔辛基大学兼职教授。作为跨文化交际和国际化教育专家，Prue Holmes博士的研究生课程主要涉及跨文化交际和国际化教育。她先后在英国、新西兰、意大利、中国、香港等高校从事过上述课程的教学工作，主持并参与了多项跨国研究项目，在相关领域发表了27篇论文和多本著作，在跨文化交际与国际交流方面具备丰富的理论知识与实践经验。
Dr. Prue Holmes is an associate professor and doctoral tutor at Durham University, part-time professor at the University Helsinki, Finland. As a cross-cultural communication and international education expert, Dr. Prue Holmes’ graduate programs mainly involve in cross-cultural communication and international education. She engaged in the course of teaching successively in England, New Zealand, Italy, China and HongKong. She hosted and participated in many international research projects, published 27 papers and books in the field. She has a wealth of theoretical and practical experience in cross cultural communication and international education.
