From the observation at KU Leuven, Chinese students and home students often experience difficulties in collaborating with each other in project teams. Drawing on Professor Erin Meyer's Culture Map (2014), a selection of crucial cultural dimensions in project work (Communicating, Scheduling, Leading, Trusting) will be introduced. Next, the results of an extended workshop on project collaboration between Cuban and Flemish (Belgian) team members will be presented. Finally, we shall try together to position China on each dimension, and reveal what sort of difficulties Chinese students are likely to face when collaborating with others in project teams.
